I have been listening to forgotten tracks and looking at earlier "projects" as I embrace the times shared with David Darling. This concert from 2006, with David, Ty Burhoe and Coleman Barks is becoming something of a wishing well for me. Today I found a few segments, poetically celebrating the coming of Spring, finding renewal. The redwing blackbirds are singing again near the pond and the snow has started to melt.

This clip is from the mastering session with Dom Maita and David Darling. We had finished mixing this piece and we were now listening to Dom's interpretation of it for the final release. The mastering process is sometimes very subtle and when done well can help reveal unarticulated aspects of the artist's inspiration. Though Dom and David have since passed away, the passion and enthusiasm they shared in the music lives on.
