Other Worlds

With the upcoming release of the David Darling album Other Worlds, it is easy enough to think of other worlds referring to “Space” and somewhere far away. I have been doing that a lot as we approach the anniversary of the Voyager 1 Satellite launch date of September 5, 1977.

David himself attended several launches of the space shuttle, and in 1984, the music we had recorded together orbited the earth on the space shuttle Discovery.  

That is the outside world. The music most dear to myself and to many others came from another world, one that was unique to David, an interior world that informed his music.
